happy halloween.

a happy halloween.
from the monarch butterfly.
the "boy butterfly" (a.k.a. the bat).
and the fairy godchild.

i have to admit.
this was one of the most fun halloweens yet.

camping. no, tenting...

our first camping/tenting experience as a family.
overall...a lot of fun.
but a lot of work...and bugs!

smores are always a hit.

now, back home.
for trick-or-treating fun.
i'm tired already!

jack-o-lanterns.

meet happy & scary jack-o-lantern.

the carving.

pumpkin "patch"

so, i couldn't stand the fact
that my kids think
a pumpkin patch is a church parking lot
with pumpkins on a pallate.
...
so, we took them to a pumpkin festival.
in farm country.
it wasn't an actual pumpkin patch.
but it was in a corn field.
on a farm.
actually, a tomato farm.
...
but it had lots of pumpkins.

and kennel corn.
which the kids now love, by the way.
and perhaps the most exciting part of all.
it had motorcycles.
trickster motor cycles.

ryan was in awe.
i could see the gears turning in his little head.

he couldn't have cared less about the pumpkins.

...

over all, a much better pumpkin patch experience.

saturday morning project.

this morning.
i was lucky enough to steal a few hours.
of craft time.
the project...

a little something to welcome
my friend's beautiful new baby girl.

a page for each month.
1 through 12.
simple and completed in one saturday morning.
perfect.

road trip.

the varga family took our first big road trip.
to north augusta, south carolina.
to visit uncle bob and aunt linda.
we had a great time.

we visited the absolute cutest small town in america.
edgefield, south carolina.
we watched a potter spin carolina clay
in his small, rustic shop.

the kids went hunting for deer around the neighborhood.

we went to oktoberfest at fort gordon, georgia.
and look closely.
that is aunt linda on the swings with ella!
